ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

Hope Chapel del Rey Children’s Ministries ministers to children from 0 years of age to 5th grade.  (Middle School and High School classes are also offered - please see Youth Ministries for details.)  

Classes are divided as follows: Nursery ages 0 to 36 months (located lower level behind sanctuary.)  3-5 year olds, 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade (these classes all begin together upstairs in the large classroom w/ the Noah’s Ark mural for worship.  After worship they divide into age/grades in rooms upstairs.)

Our Children’s Ministries runs concurrently with our Sunday morning worship service.  Classes are staffed solely by committed volunteers who faithfully serve on a rotation of 2 weeks on, 4 weeks off throughout the year.

To provide a safe and loving environment for our children, all volunteers must go through our safety and screening process which includes interview and background check.

The heart of Children’s Ministries is to touch every child’s heart with the love of Christ in a way that will encourage them to love and seek after Him long after they leave our ministry.

ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR

Our Children’s Church is run by Cheryl Gromis.  Cheryl has worked in Children’s Ministries for over 30 years.  Her experience with children also includes inner-city ministries, special ministries to the disabled, and foreign missions.  Her career before full-time mom was as a special education teacher.

Cheryl is supported by a strong leadership team and a Pastor who understand the importance of nurturing children in their faith at the earliest age.  We have a sincere love for all children and a deep desire to see them know and grow in Christ.  Every child has tremendous potential in Him!
